Finding calm in a
burned-out world.
Muse Therapy offers in-person and online mental health counseling for individuals, couples, and creatives in Chicago.
Does this sound like you?
→ You’re overwhelmed by the pace of life—you’re burned out at work, your calendar is overflowing, and daily anxiety is the norm.
→ You’re lonely in your relationships—always there when friends and family need you, but find yourself wondering who is there for you.
→ Your romantic life feels stagnant or nonexistent, and the change you hoped for hasn’t come.
→ You thought life would feel differently by now, but all your dreams feel out of reach.
You have the power to change your story, but sometimes you need a little help.
With the weight of a never ending to-do list, it can feel impossible to break free from the patterns that hold you back. The burnout, the loneliness, the sense that life isn't turning out the way you hoped for—it all adds up. But you don’t have to navigate it alone. Together, we can slow down, identify the road blocks and create steps toward meaningful change. The path forward may not always be clear, but with the right support, you can shift the way you feel, build emotionally healthy relationships, and create a life you’re excited to wake up to.
Meet Sarah, LCPC
OWNER, THERAPIST & CREATIVE
When I found my first therapist 15 years ago, it changed my life. I experienced first hand the power of a relational, attuned presence that actually listened to what I was saying, instead of waiting for their turn to speak.
Creating a balanced life with meaningful relationships and a sense of purpose is possible—even in our modern, digital, burned-out world. The key to meaningful change is active participation in the therapeutic work, and a willingness to show up when it’s hard.
My style is warm & relational, with direction and clear goals. I mix a combo of tell-it-like-it-is, with gentleness and empathy. I’m also not a “blank slate” therapist. I am an active participant in the room and bring my whole self to sessions. And if we’re a good fit, I hope you can too.
Supportive, one-on-one therapy for adults struggling with relationships, career, grief, and more.
Transformative couples therapy to explore issues related to conflict, connection, communication, and intimacy.
Therapy for artists, creatives, and highly sensitive people struggling with the ups and downs of creative work & life.
Areas of Expertise
-
In a digital world, connected relationships are more important than ever. Whether you’re struggling with friendships, dating, marriage or family conflict, I work with individuals and couples to improve their ability to manage conflict, recognizing unhealthy patterns, and establish emotionally healthy relationships.
-
We spend so many of our waking hours at work. It’s normal to hit road blocks. I help individuals gain clarity about their career path by facilitating a process of deep self-reflection, exploring their values, interests, skills, and goals, allowing them to make informed decisions about their professional direction, often leading to greater career satisfaction and decreased anxiety. I also help with pratical skills such as salary negotiation and financial coaching.
-
With over 15 years of experience working in visual arts, I uniquely understand the ins and outs of creative life and work. I weave my clinical expertise, artistic background, and innovative creative modalities to accomplish holistic healing for creative and entertainment professionals. A few things I often work on with my clients include imposter syndrome, work/life balance, career discernment, financial wellness, lack of motivation, dual roles, and identity. Learn more here.
-
We are always holding grief in one hand. No one gets a pass, but everyone uniquely carries different burdens. Whether it’s loss of a loved one, divorce, loss of identity or a major life transition, I help my clients slow down to give grief the attention and care it needs.
-
I help people from a wide range of diverse backgrounds and do not place my own beliefs onto my clients, but for those interested in integrating issues of faith, church hurt, and spirituality into the counseling room, I have speciality training in this approach.
